June 18, 2008 – 8:02 pmWenever get in express line with a lot of items or with checks. However we will get into that line if the place is not busy and we have more than 20 or 10 respectively. But twice that happened with just a FEW items more than the express limit and the frumpy cashiers had to point this out to us. The rudeness was clear, the item count was 23 and 14 and again, nobody in line behind us. Cmon cashiers of Citrus, Get with it and say thanks for shopping at walmart or publix and keep the nonsense to your staff meetings. CitrusReporter would love to hear similar stories, but even more stories where this DID NOT happen when you had more items.

Movie theatre price gouging stinks
January 29, 2008 – 7:34 pmFor years movie theater prices have been higher than other places for soda and candy. We all know that and for years I have been sneaking candy into the movies. But the other day the concession stand girls offered what they called a combo. Two sodas, medium and one large popcorn. Noting that the management was scared to place the price on these things I knew the price was high and was shocked when they said $16.50. 16.50 for two sodas and one popcorn. This is just plain wrong.

Untried BBQ sauce
October 22, 2007 – 9:06 pmIngredients 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (packed) 1/3 Tsp Tabasco Sauce 1/3 Cup White Vinegar 1/4 Cup Heinz Tomato Paste 2 Cups of Heinz Catsup 4 Cloves of Garlic (minced) 1/2 Large Onion (minced) 1/4 Cup Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce 3/4 Cup Molasses 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Pepper 3/4 Cup Old#7 Jack Daniel's Whiskey Tsp = teaspoon BBQ Sauce Preparation Combine onion, garlic and Jack Daniel's Whiskey in a 3 quart sauce pan. Saute until onion and garlic are translucent, around 10 minutes. Remove from heat and the light mixture: flame 20 seconds (you may need to add a little Jack to do this). Add all remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then turn down to medium simmer. Simmer about 20 minutes, stirring bits if you prefer a smoother sauce ( I do, after cooking you can even strain the sauce if you like). October 7, 2007 – 12:47 amI am sure they are a good bunch. I have no compaint (yet) about them or their business. I just had to make a post about something someone there did. The notable part was that someone had to think this through and come to the conclusion that this was a good and intelligent move. A friend had been given a small boat. They parked it along side their house. It is only for a short while but nobody knew that. It will be gone soon however. So rest assured there is no argument about it being there against deed rest. The strange part was the notice from BHCA to the owner of the property. The letter had the block and plot highlighted in green, and a photo of the boat in the yard.
